1 day Embodiment training:
Embodied Assertiveness, Boundaries and Communication
– Enjoy your power.
London: tbc
How to know what you want and need and express it so people can hear you.
Do you want to understand better what you want and need, set clearer boundaries with others or improve communication of your wants and needs, whilst becoming more assertive in the process? If your answer is a yes, this workshop is for you.
Many people struggle to find what it is they really want as they are focused on what they think is expected of them. You also might feel that you are much better at satisfying the needs of everyone around you, rather than making sure you are fully ok with your own life and decisions?
In this 1 day Embodied Assertiveness workshop you can:
- Learn skills and capacities needed to be clearer about your own truth
- Experience embodied decision making, allowing you to create much more ease in making choices
- Learn to Express constructively and with clarity what you want and need so others can hear you. You will also learn why even clearly spoken requests are sometimes not taken in by the recipient and how you can change that.
- Embody who you are more authentically and learn to show up more fully
- Get a taste of how it is to be welcomed by the world for authentically being you

Frequently Asked Questions
Embodiment actually means we – as our conscious selves – are present in our bodies. Practically, this means you can feel your sensations, feelings, and emotions in your body as they occur in the present moment. Being embodied allows us to connect to our internal sources of information – including our own wants and needs – rather than only being focused on external sources (like other people’s wants or demands).
Sensing and feeling the communication of our body is the key to knowing what we want and need. For example, you might not notice that you are hungry if your absorbed in thinking about a problem. Eventually your body will manage to communicate to you the need for food. Emotional needs are expressed by your body’s intelligence in the same way…But are you listening?
We cannot be naturally assertive around our wants and needs if we do not feel what it is that we want in the first place. In order for us to know what we truly want, we need to feel the “yes, the no, or the maybe” in our body as a physical/emotional reality. Some call this their gut feeling or simply them feeling their truth.
Our life path is build of hundreds of seemingly small and not so small daily choices. If they are based predominantly on outside demands, we build a life alien to us. As we embody more fully, our decisions regarding relationships and life path reflect more and more our real self with our curiosity, desire, energy, and love in the driving seat.
Being held in our empathetic supportive group, we alternate between clear explanations and meta-understanding of the many patterns and survival strategies we frequently engage in, along with practical “here and now”explorations of embodiment and presence to yourself and others.
Through this you will build a moment-by-moment understanding of how embodied you are at a given time. You will begin to notice that you have a choice between a more thinking-based intelligence and embodiment intelligence. Each of these intelligences has their place in creating the best possible life for us and ideally both work together in specific learnable patterns.
Exercises in the workshop focus on how we connect to our body. These are deepened through sharing of our experiences. Where is it easy to connect to our body and where do we struggle?
You are invited – if this feels right for you – to bring your own real life material into the group, working directly with it. Struggles in relationships, anxieties, boundaries issues at work, indecisiveness in areas of your life or stressful experiences are just some possible examples. You can also share about areas in which you would like to be more open and test how such openness feels in the group.
The work is very practical, accessible and effective. During the weekend you will be meeting with like-minded course participants in a space which purposefully enables you to be emotionally available and expressive.
This day of teaching is welcoming your deeper truths. It is both structured and experiential whilst at the same time leaving space to safely and lightheartedly invite your more vulnerable self into the driving seat.
Relaxed, fun and entirely voluntary post-course assignments will be given to help with integration and implementation of the things you learned and allow you to explore your new effectiveness. Naturally, those group participants who wish to are encouraged and supported to remain in contact with each other for further exchanges.
For individuals who want to work with specific trauma-related issues that become apparent during the day, therapeutic one to one sessions can be arranged for at a later date.
